Also, please follow these guidelines when submitting your paper:
-
Formatting: Please prepare your final submission according to the IEEE Transactions formatting requirements. A corresponding LateX template is available for download.
Please do not modify the formatting provided in this template. Any change to font sizes, page dimensions, line spacing, etc. may delay the publication of your paper. Please do not include any additional markings such as Draft or To appear in... on the pages. Make sure your paper does not contain page numbers.
Submissions must be limited to 8 pages. Robotics: Science and Systems offers no provision for accommodating papers that do not meet these requirements.
-
Creating PDF files: Delays in the production of proceedings are usually caused by PDF file submissions that do not embed all fonts. Please follow the below instructions to ensure that your PDF document will not suffer from this problem.
When preparing your document in LateX, make sure to create the PDF file from your LateX source by use of these commands:
latex paper.tex
dvips paper.dvi -o paper.ps -t letter -Ppdf -G0
ps2pdf paper.psThe arguments provided to
dvips
will ensure that all fonts are embedded in the PDF file produced byps2pdf

Checking PDF files: Before submitting your PDF file, please open it in Acrobat Reader. In the File menu under Document Properties, you will find information on the Fonts used by your document. The PDF file should only contain Type-1 fonts. If you correctly followed the instructions above but your document contains other types of fonts, then these may have been included as part of your figures. Again, please ensure that your submission only contains Type-1 fonts.

Creating Video clips: Since storage capacity is limited, the file size of video submissions must not exceed 10 MBytes. Apart from these size limitations, there will be no restrictions of the video file format, encoding, resolution, framerate etc. However, we strongly recommend our authors to comply with the standards assumed by common video rendering software.
Be alerted to the fact that if none of the reviewers can view your video submission, the video supplement will be rejected.
If you plan to submit a video to support your paper, please re-enter http://rss2008.confmaster.net and hit View own papers on the main page's left-hand side. Next, click on the disk icon on the far right of the paper entry information. Insert the video's name into the Video Upload text box and confirm by clicking on the

Once the upload is complete, the
Download icon
will become active. Please verify that your file was successfully loaded by hitting the download icon and by playing the downloaded video.
Please note: Since we expect heavy traffic originating from late paper uploads on January 15, we reserve the option to temporarily deactivate video uploads on that very day. However, video uploads will then be re-enabled after the paper submission deadline.
